Recent Financial Performance

The following table summarises historical and projected financial performance of Tullow. The projection is based on oil prices remaining flat at current levels (17 November 2017, crude brent: USD/bbl. 61.98). The projected uplift in net cash flows (from 2017 onwards) is driven by:

Reduction in interest expense from the pay-down of debt following the rights issue Sell off of some of the Uganda project to Total resulting in lower development capex In the analysis production is assumed to remain flat Regarding capital expenditure, management havent provided capex guidance beyond 2017 and understably so as it will depend on many factors including the oil price. Best Oil Stocks To Watch For 2018: Range Resources Corporation(RRC)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

According to a report by PLS, producers spent more than $23 billion locking up prime positions in the Permian Basin and another $7 billion on Mid-Continent acreage acquisitions. However, most of those were smaller deals, with the top transaction weighing in at $2.5 billion. Meanwhile, the Ark-La-Tex region near the Gulf Coast quietly tied for the second hottest M&A geography in the country, largely because of Range Resources (NYSE:RRC) acquisition of Memorial Resource Development. Range Resources paid $4.2 billion, which includes the assumption of debt, to gain a leading position in the Lower Cotton Valley region of Northern Louisiana. Not only is the play saturated with natural gas, but it’s also near the Gulf Coast, which is expected to see increased demand from new petrochemical and industrial complexes as well as LNG export facilities. In other words, Range Resources made a big bet on higher gas prices along the Gulf Coast.

Best Oil Stocks To Watch For 2018: Halliburton Company(HAL)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Ben Levisohn]

When Weatherford International (WFT) announced that it had named Halliburton (HAL) CFO Mark McCollumits new CEO, its shares jumped as some observers contended itincreased the odds of an acquisition by the oil-services giant. It looks like they picked the wrong oil-services giant, however, as Weatherford and Schlumberger (SLB) announced a joint venture late Friday, one that has sent Weatherford’s shares soaring and earned it an upgrade from Wells Fargo analystsJudson Bailey andColeman Sullivan. They explain why:

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

Following a series of M&A announcements in the oilfield-services sector since the onset of the oil market downturn, French oil-field service company Technip and U.S. oilfield equipment company FMC Technologies (NYSE:FTI) hooked up in an all-stock deal valuing the combined company at $13 billion. Shareholders of each company will own 50% of the combined entity, to be named TechnipFMC, which implies a roughly $6.5 billion acquisition valuation for each entity. The transaction, which should close early next year, will “combine Technip’s innovative systems and solutions, state-of-the-art assets, engineering strengths, and project management capabilities with FMC Technologies’ leading technology, manufacturing, and service capabilities.” Further, it should save $400 million in annual costs by 2019. Moreover, it will enable the combined company to compete better against larger oil-field service rivals Baker Hughes (NYSE:BHI), Halliburton (NYSE:HAL), and Schlumberger (NYSE:SLB), which have all gained strength during the downturn either through M&A activities or cost savings initiatives.

  • [By Brett Hershman]

Halliburton Company (NYSE: HAL) talked about the acceleration of data and services integration, an increased focus on improving margins and made no commitment toward price increases in the first quarter.

Halliburton (HAL) has gotten beaten up this year…and even today’s earnings beat doesn’t capable of reversing its fortunes.

    Getty Images

Halliburton reported a profit of 4 cents, beating forecasts for 3 cents, on sales of $4.28 billion, narrowly edging expectations for $4.27 billion. Halliburton’s shares were trading higher before the market opened, but have declined have declined 0.3% to $46.90 at 1:56 p.m. today.

Evercore ISI’s James West sees a “margin explosion” coming for Halliburton during the second half of the year, while comparing the oil-services giant to LeBron:

With the start of the year already regarded as a transition period, we view the companys decision to sacrifice near term margins in order to accelerate long-term profitability and revenue growth as a defensive, yet calculated, and preemptive maneuver. Execution does remain a risk but naysayers seem to utter similar indecencies about LeBron James each year as the playoffs arrive. You dont doubt the king, and HAL is the clear market leader when it comes to NAM completions, in our view. The change in HALs reporting format makes syncing HALs commentary with its financials more difficult, but NAM comprised 68% and 61% of C&P revenues in 2014 and 2015, respectively (71% and 21% of EBIT). As such, the broader segment should be a good proxy for the region. Abatement of cost inflation, or at least a deceleration as we progress beyond the first step-change in activity of the cycle should serve as an additional tailwind for margins. The most likely benefit will come from proppant costs as sand mines resume processing finer mesh grades following the winter hiatus. Additional frac capacity is being reactivated at leading edge prices, evidenced by the fact that incremental margins improved throughout the first quarter, and the company continues to repair legacy contracts and commitments. The improvement of the broader po

But what really differentiates SLB from rivals such as Halliburton Company (HAL) is its client list.

Instead of focusing on North America, Schlumberger has a global portfolio, and thus its revenues are well, worldlier. Thats important, because state-owned energy firms can have a different mandate than publicly traded energy stocks. They often drill despite losses. Plus, the multitude of operating regions means some could be profitable, covering for when others are not.

Best Oil Stocks To Watch For 2018: Transocean Inc.(RIG)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Teresa Rivas]

Transocean (RIG) is rising Thursday afternoon, thanks to an upbeat fourth quarter.

    Agence France-Presse/Getty Images

The oilfield services company said it earned 63 cents a share (a figure that excludes $13 million in net unfavorable items), well ahead of the nickel a share in earnings analysts expected. Revenue fell 47.4% year over year to $974 million, also above the $806 million consensus estimate. Transocean said its contract backlog was $11.3 billion as of its February fleet status report. Raymond Jamess Praveen Narra and J. Marshall Adkins reiterated an Underperform rating on the stock following the report. They praised the companys ongoing cost controls and strong revenue efficiency, which they expect to continue. But still arent ready to recommend the stock amid a difficult macro backdrop. More detail from their note:

Transocean continued to minimize costs and maximize efficiency amid a challenging offshore environment, reporting 4Q16 adjusted EBITDA of $414 million, higher than our estimate of $363 million and consensus of $394 million. The beat was driven by lower than expected costs of $344 million (adjusting for favorable litigation), which came in ~12% lower than our estimate of $385 million and guidance of guidance of $375-385 million. Total revenue efficiency came in at 100.3%, as it was boosted by bonus incentives and possibly effective results from the new contracting model, particularly in the high-spec jackup market. The beat to our estimates was also driven by higher than anticipated revenues, which came in at $805 million, above our estimate of $788 million, but below the consensus estimate of $812 million. We note, our adjusted revenue excludes $169 million in early termination fees during the quarter.

The shares are up 6.6% to $14.16 in recent trading, although theyre down 4% year to date.

Yes, oil stayed above $50 a barrel, but in a note published this morning, Cornerstone Macro’s Carter Worth warned that a “stuck” oil price could be as damaging as a dropping one:

Then, of course, theres the inconvenient fact that WTI Crude Oil itself is hopelessly stuck in the low $50 a
barrel range a level at which it was trading in June of last year. Essentially seven months without any forward progress is the bottom line.

Transocean’s market capitalization fell to $5.4 billion today from $5.8 billion on Friday. It reported net income of $782 million on sales of $7.4 billion in 2015.

Best Canadian Stocks For 2018

In my post yesterday, I mentioned that investors with advisors – even run-of-the-mill ones – often do better than DIY investors, mainly because they’re following the program set by their advisor, and the advisor is following the program in which he or she was trained, which is to, well, stick with the program – in markets both good and bad.

I happened to run across a fresh survey of Canadian mutual fund investors that validates this idea, finding that investors with advisors accumulate more wealth than unadvised households and that these benefits increase over time. Here’s the survey. Feel free to comment below, and have a good weekend.

Meanwhile, here are few end-of-the-week links:

Kate Stalter: What happens in your portfolio, stays in your portfolio. Q3 GDP comes in at a hot 2.9%. Kevin Wilson: Buy high, sell low and repeat till broke. Best Canadian Stocks For 2018: Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc.(CMG)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Chris Lange]

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) released its first quarter earnings report after the markets closed on Tuesday. The burrito giant said that it had $1.60 in earnings per share (EPS) and $1.07 billion in revenue, with consensus estimates from Thomson Reuters calling for $1.27 in EPS and $1.05 billion in revenue. The same period from last year had a net loss of $0.88 per share and $834.46 million in revenue.

  • [By WWW.THESTREET.COM]

Sometimes it’s a little subtle. Take Chipotle (CMG) . The numbers looked terrible, but if you had followed the company’s numbers trajectory, you would have realized that the company is seeing the beginning of the turn in business that we’ve been forecasting.

  • [By Asit Sharma]

The great southern writer Flannery O’Connor titled her final short story collectionEverything That Rises Must Converge. But the stock market teaches us that a related, opposing corollary is also often true: Every great stock that falls must converge — with the valuation of its peers, that is.

Take Chipotle Mexican Grill(CMG), which has witnessed its forward one-year price-to-earnings (PE) ratio shrink 35% from nearly 37 to 24 in the span of just 12 weeks, due to its much publicized E. coli and norovirus food contamination crises.

Chipotle’s valuation has converged with former parent McDonald’s Corporation’s forward P/E ratio of 23. It’s also converging with the average for the sleepy, large-cap, consumer-oriented stocks in the S&P 500 Consumer Staples sector, which collectively hold a one-year forward P/E of 20.

This valuation range is compelling because it reflects the market’s assumption that Chipotle will experience a dramatic curbing of growth next year. And from everything we know today, that certainly appears to be the case.

But this temporary convergence is the long-term investor’s opportunity. At the moment, there is no single competitor with Chipotle’s scale and product quality which can quickly step in and supplant the company from the niche it has dominated for several years. If Chipotle can fix its food supply issues, any lost market share is its own to regain.

And the Mexican-themed chain has already proven that it can expand aggressively. The 2016 store opening schedule (still unrevised, although I believe it will be dialed back slightly early this year) calls for an 11.5% expansion of Chipotle’s locations in a single year.

So if Chipotle regains consumer trust — and I believe this very capable management team will succeed in doing so — its stock has the significant possibility to rebound to a much higher multiple, in line with the company’s historic growth potential. This resurgence might not occur in 2016. But Foolish investors know that the best investments take time.

  • [By Matthew Briar]

Look out Cannabis Science Inc (OTCMKTS:CBIS), and step aside Medical Marijuana Inc (OTCMKTS:MJNA). There’s a new cannabis name on the scene…. Algae Dynamics Corp. (OTCMKTS:ADYNF). It may not be known (or named) like its marijuana peers, but give it time. This small cap company has a very big idea, and it’s going to sprout soon.

Yes, Algae Dynamics is an algae company. It’s not just an algae company though.

Algae Dynamics is the owner of the proprietary BioSilo ™ process. BioSilo is a way of growing algae quickly and effectively…. a mix of an open-pond system and a photobioreactor, which is a light-driven approach to growing algae. It can be viewed as a “best of both worlds” approach, lowering the typical cost of algae farming, while the modular design makes it easy to maintain.

The company could go a lot of directions with the technology, Most of the tens of thousands of species of algae are rather flexible in how they can be purposed, and what they can become. Algae Dynamics is first focused on the development of two kinds of products though…. Chlorella, and Omega-3.

Chlorella is a type of microalgae that can be processed into a consumable powder by drying it until it takes a powder form, similar to coffee. Chlorella is rich in minerals, prebiotics, vitamins, and other nutritional substances. It can be added to a baked goods and a number of other products, or taken as a supplement on its own. Chlorella is used in over 1,000 products in the food and beverage markets. Algae Dynamics estimates the global Chlorella market was $210.3 million in 2014 and is expected to reach $265.5 million in 2018.

Despite a market for Chlorella in North America, there are no commercial North American producers of it.

Due to its health benefits, Omega-3 oil can be added to a very wide range of products. Consumers are increasingly aware of these benefits too, leading to substantial growth in the industry; health supplements compr

This rapid growth in legal pot has create quite the demand for marijuana stocks. The seven largest marijuana stocks by market cap have all put on a show over the past couple of years. Here are those seven “green giants” listed with their market caps as of March 17, 2017, along with their trailing one-year total returns.

    GW Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:GWPH): $3.0 billion, up 64% Canopy Growth Corp. (NASDAQOTH:TWMJF): $904 million, up 259% Aphria (NASDAQOTH:APHQF) $440 million, up 381% Aurora Cannabis (NASDAQOTH:ACBFF): $482 million, up 299% AXIM Biotechnologies (NASDAQOTH:AXIM): $562 million, up 1,720% Corbus Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:CRBP): $450 million, up 431% Medical Marijuana (NASDAQOTH:MJNA): $221 million, up 254%

With the exception of GW Pharmaceuticals, every one of the largest marijuana stocks has at least tripled in value over the trailing 12 months, with cannabinoid-based drug developer AXIM Biotechnologies skyrocketing more than 1,700%!

Top 10 Oil Stocks To Watch For 2018

With the global oil supply/demand balance expected to show a significant deficit in the second half of 2017, oil prices should move up to a new level and the upstream offshore market should start to recover. Offshore drillers are late-cycle stocks. Past cycles indicate that the activity bottom is reached 18 months after the oil price bottom. Share prices usually bottom in between.

In 2014, the break even costs for offshore oil were said to be $10/b to $20/b lower than U.S. shale oil. Since then, the costs of U.S. shale oil have come down significantly, but according to a recent Rystad study, the oil costs of new offshore projects have at least matched that cost decline. Without a significant recovery of upstream offshore activity, global oil supply will not be able to match demand in a few years.

On the floater supply side, I think that scrapping will continue to exceed new arrivals. The year 2018 will be the financially most difficult year for offshore drillers, but upstream offshore activity will most likely show a clear uptrend, lifting the spirits and the stock prices.

For perspective, two of the highest rated MLPs by credit rating agencies are Magellan Midstream Partners (NYSE:MMP) and Enterprise Products Partners (NYSE:EPD). Recently, their leverage ratios were 3.5 times and 4.4 times, respectively. While both Magellan Midstream and Enterprise Products have seen their leverage ratios creep higher in recent quarters due to the oil market downturn and growth spending, neither is a concern.

Top 10 Oil Stocks To Watch For 2018: Marathon Oil Corporation(MRO)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By WWW.THESTREET.COM]

Cramer said he tried to buck this trend by investing in EOG Resources (EOG) and Marathon Oil (MRO) but was wrong on both counts. In the case of EOG, even having the best properties wasn’t enough to ward off the collapse in oil prices. Meanwhile, Marathon’s decision to spin off its refining business left it with no cushion to stem its losses.

Marathon Oil (MRO) tumbled to the bottom of the S&P 500 today after oil tumbled after data pointed to higher inventories of crude.

    Agence France-Presse/Getty Images

Marathon Oildropped 8.7% to $14.87, while the S&P 500 fell 0.2% to 2,362.98, as Front Month Nymex Crude futures for April delivery slid 5.4% to $50.28., leading some to wonder if the price oil could drop below $50 a barrel.

It wasn’t just Marathon that got clipped as the eight worst-performing stocks in the S&P 500 came from the energy sector, including Murphy Oil (MUR), which fell 6.7% to $25.87, Devon Energy (DVN), which slid 6.5% to $40.72, and Chesapeake Energy (CHK), which stumbled 6.1% to $4.94. No surprise, then, that the Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) slumped 2.6% to $69.65.

The oil rout began after the U.S. Energy Information Administration reported that U.S. oil inventories rose by 8.2 million barrels to reach $518.4 million, a record level.

Marathon Oil’s market capitalization fell to $12.6 billion today from $13.8 billion yesterday. It reported a net loss of $2.1 billion on sales of $4.1 billion in 2016.

Shares of Marathon Oil jumped 21% to $18.06, while the S&P 500 fell 0.3% to 2,198.81, and the Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) climbed 5.1% to $74.43.

In a note published on Nov. 21, Morgan Stanley’sEvan Calio and team named Marathon Oil as one of the four stocks they expected to outperform if OPEC actually delivered a production cut:

Beta Should Lead At The Start of A Rally: Best ideas in the first leg up: Marathon Oil, Devon Energy (DVN), Anadarko Petroleum (APC), and Continental Resources (CLR). If OPEC announces a cut, whether moderate or deep, we expect that in the initial move up, moderate value beta names, like Marathon Oil, Devon Energy, Anadarko Petroleum, andContinental Resources will lead. For a $5 increase in oil prices, we estimate 2017 cash flow per share would increase 12-18% for these stocks vs. the remainder of the group at 12%. Of these four, short interest is modest for all exceptContinental Resources at 25%, among the highest in our universe. Outperformance of these names should be driven by investors adding to long positions, not short covering.

Good call. Not only did Marathon soar, but Devon Energy jumped 15% to $48.33, Anadarko Petroleum climbed 15% to $69.15, and Continental Resources surged 23% to $58.01.

How strong is the earnings recovery? Of the 18 stocks that reported this morning, 13 beat forecasts, including Halliburton (HAL), and Hasbro (HAS). BofA Merrill Lynch’s Savita Subramanian and team note that for the first time since 2012, analysts are raising their earnings forecasts as earnings season progresses:

These companies also reported insider buying last week: Apache Corp. (NYSE: APA), Halliburton Co. (NYSE: HAL), Revlon Inc. (NYSE: REV), Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc. (NYSE: VRX) and U.S. Steel Corp. (NYSE: X).

  • [By Jayson Derrick]

Halliburton Company (NYSE: HAL) is a top energy pick for four reasons: 1) the company’s significant leverage to the U.S. onshore market, 2) potential for incremental margin growth, 3) expectations for positive earnings revision and 4) strong balance sheet and a “well respected” management team.

  • [By WWW.KIPLINGER.COM]

But what really differentiates SLB from rivals such as Halliburton Company (HAL) is its client list.

Instead of focusing on North America, Schlumberger has a global portfolio, and thus its revenues are well, worldlier. Thats important, because state-owned energy firms can have a different mandate than publicly traded energy stocks. They often drill despite losses. Plus, the multitude of operating regions means some could be profitable, covering for when others are not.

Halliburton (HAL) has gotten beaten up this year…and even today’s earnings beat doesn’t capable of reversing its fortunes.

Range Resources gained 4.1% to $28.47, while the S&P 500 slipped 0.3% to2,375.31.

Barron’s Andrew Bary called Range Resources “an unappreciated energy play.” He explains why:

With major market indexes at record highs, natural-gas stocks are among the few depressed industry groups. Blame a warm winter and weakening gas prices.

Range Resources (ticker: RRC), a leading U.S. gas producer, looks undervalued. Its shares, at $27, are down 20% this year and are much below their 52-week high of $47, set last June. Range drilled the first well in the now-prolific Marcellus region of Pennsylvania more than a decade ago and amassed one of its largest land positions there610,000 acres. Its $4.2 billion purchase of Memorial Resource Development last September gave it access to what the company views as a prolific and underappreciated gas region: northern Louisiana

After getting a huge boost from Donald Trump’s winning the Presidential election, Wells Fargo (NYSE:WFC) has been milling around the $53 a share range. I still find the stock overly expensive, especially when compared to the likes of JPMorgan (NYSE:JPM). Nonetheless, the phony-account scandal and apparent fraud that WFC was committing created a buying opportunity, with shares hitting multi-year lows in the low $40s.

Catalysts to get WFC investable

Regulators might finally be willing to step up their ‘regulation’ of WFC, noting that they might claw back executive pay. The other big news is that WFC must now get approval before shaking up its leadership. But ideally, regulators will be able to scrape back some of the pay that executives raked in while pressuring employees to open fake accounts. The less than $200 million fee that WFC was hit with was a proverbial drop in the bucket for WFC’s cash. Meanwhile, big executives, including former CEO John Stumpf and head for retail banking Carrie Tolstedt still took home more than $350 million on their extis.

I recently provided a brief overview on the challenges facing the trucking industry. For railroads, the big news for the year has been Hunter Harrison’s new management role at CSX Corp. (NYSE:CSX). Trade-related volatility, driven by political rhetoric, has impacted Canadian rails as well as Kansas City Southern (NYSE:KSU).

Aside from news headlines and management shifts, most railroads have witnessed a strong uptrend in rail traffic performance during the first quarter. This has translated to all Class Is meeting and/or exceeding analyst estimates. This performance has not translated to Genesee & Wyoming (NYSE:GWR), as it was the only railroad to miss expectations. Rail traffic was also lower for the month of April when excluding carloads from new railroads.

Time To Favor Optionality: Most macro data are similar to, or better than, when the merger was announced. As a result, the same returns have been obtainable, with significantly less stress, simply through owning 3M (MMM) or a basket of chemical companies that approximate the Dow-DuPont portfolio. Relative to the chemical sector, performance has been average, leverage appears reasonable but near-term FCF less-than compelling partly due to new capacity ramping. With the merger likely to close in the near-term (90% chance, in our view), we believe Dow-DuPont will have an opportunity to show how scale creates optionality. The overhaul at Celanese (CE) over the past few years shows the way.

Transocean (RIG)tumbled to the bottom of the S&P 500 today as the entire energy sector got crushed on fears that production would start to grow.

On Mar. 2, Transocean (RIG), just seven days after reporting earnings, announced that it would delay filing its 10-K. the timing, particularly for use at Barron’s, wasn’t great, as we had just recommended the stock in the magazine. Still Transocean’s shares weathered the news–it fell only 1.1% on that day–and now the 10-K has been filed. What does it show? RBC’sKurt Hallead andMatthew McKellar explain:

Top 5 Oil Stocks To Buy For 2018: Halliburton Company(HAL)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

Top 10 Low Price Stocks To Buy For 2018

Many stocks have been beaten down to very low prices due to tax selling, creating bargain basement opportunities, suggests Fred Fuld, editor of stockerblog.

In fact, looking at stocks that are selling below cash is one the way to go to make profits. Here is what it means when a stock sells below cash per share.

First, assuming the company has no debt, you take the amount of cash that the company has in the bank and divide it by the outstanding number of shares. That represents the cash per share.

If a stock is trading for less than that amount, it is a bargain, because if the company went out of business immediately, everything would be liquidated and disbursed on a per share basis.

Even if all the company’s inventory, equipment, and real estate were worth nothing, all that cash would provide the investor with a profit.

Top Canadian Stocks To Own For 2018: Nu Skin Enterprises Inc.(NUS)

  • [By Scott Rubin]

Stock gainers included Mercadolibre Inc (NASDAQ: MELI), up almost 14 percent, and Nu Skin Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE: NUS), which added 12 percent. The positive gains in both stocks were due to strong earnings reports. Shares of Liberty Interactive Group (NASDAQ: QVCA) plunged almost 22 percent on Friday due to disappointing sales growth in its fiscal second quarter. Pharmaceutical giant Bristol-Myers Squibb Co (NYSE: BMY) lost 16 percent after a disappointing study involving its Opdivo drug.

  • [By Ben Levisohn]

Citigroup’s Beth Kite calls Nu Skin Enterprises’ (NUS) earnings and guidance “awfully disappointing.” She explains why:

“Frustrating” Describes 4Q15 & 2016 Guidance:Nu Skin (i) reported 4Q15 EPS of $0.62, 11 cents below consensus and us, and (ii) lowered 2016 EPS guidance, from $3.25-$3.40 to $2.40-$2.60.Nu Skin had three LTO’s in 4Q152 succeeded and 1 failed. The failure had far less to do with the product than with the sales strategy…

Is Guidance Too Conservative or Is It Really This Bad? We get that Me failed to sell well in South Korea with the 12-month cartridge commitment. But given the strength in reps globally, the strength of Youth from its two LTOs in 2H15, and good results from Me when sold in Japan without the 12-month commitment, we wonder if guidance is aggressive to the downside. Indeed, the word “conservative” was said a lot by mgmt on the brief earnings call when describing guidance revisions.

Maintaining Buy: While we now have less confidence in mgmt, from an external perspective, to forecast its results accurately, and from an internal perspective, to course correct quicklyi.e., why didn’t they drop the 12-month plan for Me in South Korea when it so obviously wasn’t workingwe are still confident in Youth & Me. The rep growth in South Asia/Pacific from Youth in 3Q led to better 4Q sales than we’d expected, Youth’s Americas LTO in 4Q drove lc sales up 26% YoY, and Me not only sold through in Japan in 4Q but also drove reps higher. We imagine that investors may have little patience or confidence in Nu Skin for a while, understandably. But the bar seems set fairly low now, so we are cautiously optimistic that Nu Skin can dig itself out of this hole as we go through 2016 and Me & Youth roll out more fully.

Shares of Nu Skin have tumbled 13% to $27.31 at 2:11 p.m. today.

  • [By Craig Jones]

Nu Skin Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE: NUS) is trading sharply higher on Friday, but options traders are buying puts in the name, said Jon Najarian. Traders were buying the June 50 puts and they paid around 6 percent for them, so they don't see much upside in Nu Skin Enterprises, explained Najarian. He followed the trade and he is planning to hold the position for a month.

But what really differentiates SLB from rivals such as Halliburton Company (HAL) is its client list.

Instead of focusing on North America, Schlumberger has a global portfolio, and thus its revenues are well, worldlier. Execution does remain a risk but naysayers seem to utter similar indecencies about LeBron James each year as the playoffs arrive.

With major market indexes at record highs, natural-gas stocks are among the few depressed industry groups. Blame a warm winter and weakening gas prices.
