Top 10 High Tech Stocks To Watch For 2018

The British are leaving, the British are leaving…and that was enough to sink stocks this week.

Getty Images

The S&P 500 dropped 0.7% this week after declining 0.3% to 2,153.74 today, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.4% this week after slipping 28.01 points, or 0.2%, to 18,240.49 today. The Nasdaq Composite fell 0.4% this week after dropping 0.3% to5,292.40 today.

What did the British do? First, Prime Minister Theresa May said that the U.K. will invoke Article 50 to leave the European Union by March 2017. Citigroup’s Christian Schulz and team consider the impact of what’s being called a “hard Brexit”:

Just as UK economic sentiment is recovering from the initial shock of the vote to leave the EU, the tone and announcements at the Conservative Party conference (CPC) risk shaking that resilience again. The clear message from the new PM has been about the priority of national identity considerations and containing immigration, plus more economic intervention. Theresa Mays commitment to trigger the exit process by invoking Article 50 TEU dashes any hopes that the Brexit process would be delayed or even overturned by parliament or the UKs nations. The additional commitment to insist on new immigration controls and the explicit ruling out of the Norwegian and Swiss models of EU relations raise the risk that the UK could exit the Single Market and all other relations with the EU abruptly in spring 2019. Customs Union exit should not come as a surprise but completes the set of disruptive policies, as does the commitment to crack down on perceived corporate misbehavior. The only hope, as far as we can see, is that the potentially large economic and political damage of such an outcome will force the UK and the EU to avoid it or that they will at least draw out the process by agreeing to a bridge model with some Single Market access to follow the Article 50 TEU period. However, with the risk of hard Brexit now firmly on the map, preparations for the worst case will have to intensify on both sides of the English Channel, and the economic consequences are likely to be felt more on its northern shore.

Top 10 High Tech Stocks To Watch For 2018: Staples, Inc.(SPLS)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Lisa Levin]

Shares of Staples, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPLS) got a boost, shooting up 7 percent to $9.25 on chatter that the company is targeted for an acquisition. Sycamore Partners, a private equity giant, is reportedly in advanced talks to acquire the office supply retailer, Reuters reported. The deal could value Staples at more than $6 billion, a premium to Staples' valuation of $5.60 billion as of Wednesday's market close.

The company was set to merge with its last remaining rival, Staples Inc. (Nasdaq: SPLS), this year, but was denied by a federal judge on May 10 because of antitrust concerns.

Staples (SPLS) soared to the top of the S&P 500 today on reports that the office-supplies retailer was considering selling itself.

Staples gained 9.8% to $9.51 today, while the S&P 500 ticked up 0.1% to 2,360.16.

CFRA’s Efraim Levy doesn’t see a “natural buyer” for Staples but remain Buy rated anyway:

Shares are higher on an unconfirmed WSJ report that SPLS is looking at the possible sale of the company. Our fundamentally valued 12-month target of $11, applies a below historical average P/E of 12.1X our FY 18 EPS estimate, given office industry challenges. Our target has 11% upside, plus a 5.5% yield. We don’t see a natural buyer for a large physical store office supply presence, although an activist/private-equity buyer is a possibility. To make an acquisition worthwhile, a buyer would have to be more aggressive in cost cutting and use of cash flow than SPLS’s existing plan.

Staples’ market capitalization rose to $6.2 billion today from $5.7 billion yesterday. It reported a net loss of $459 million on sales of $18.2 billion in fiscal 2017.

Its backlog of homes climbed 15% in the quarter to 7 while its backlog dollar value gained 17% to $2.9 billion.

MKM Partners Megan McGrath liked the quarter, although shes still on the sidelines with regard to the stock:

Lennarreported an earnings beat yesterday, meeting or beating almost all key metric estimates. The stock traded flat vs. a flat S&P 500. Although in-line with our estimates, we believe that the gross margin guidance (down 50-100 bps next year) may have disappointed some investors. Homebuilding guidance was generally in-line with our estimates while guidance for the company’s ancillary businesses was better than our forecast. As a result, we are raising our FY17 EPS estimate to $4.13 from $4.01 and we are now more in-line with consensus. We maintain our Neutral ratingon the company given medium and longer-term concerns over rising mortgage rates and uncertainty over policy issues that could impact major financial decisions for potential buyers next year.

Lennar is down 1.2% at recent check, and has lost 12% this year.

We initiated Lennar (NYSE:LEN) in October, and thus wrote up our comments in our prior shareholder letter, but due to the shift in our letter cadence, we are republishing our thoughts from our initial purchase.

Marty Whitman said in October 1996: “Given Third Avenue’s investment criteria, it is more accurate to view the situation as the industry selecting the Fund, rather than Third Avenue choosing the industries in which to invest’ We think this quote superbly describes the opportunity the Value Fund saw in establishing a position in Lennar Corporation common in the quarter, as the shares sold off somewhat inexplicably from nearly $50 per share at their recent peak and allowed us to establish a position at just over $41.

We have followed Lennar for years as the Real Estate team reviewed the position at our weekly research meetings, and think the investment case has only improved on a fundamental level despite the widening valuation discount in the shares. Lennar meets every tenant of our investment philosophy.

The balance sheet is strong and improving. Homebuilding net debt to total capital has fallen to 33% as of FY4Q16. Much of this improvement is the result of management’s soft pivot land strategy, which is reducing the duration of its owned land bank and converting its undervalued balance sheet assets into cash.

From a compounding point of view, Lennar continues to build value through developing its land bank into saleable housing units, and by monetizing further transaction values through its mortgage origination and title insurance offerings to its home buyers. Notably, we are pleased and supportive of Lennar’s offer to acquire WCIC Communities (WCIC), a top holding of the Third Avenue Small-Cap Value Fund, as Miami-based Lennar knows WCIC’s 100% based Florida assets intimately. Lennar not only sees compelling opportunities to monetize WCIC’s over 14,000 homesites, but also synergy opportunities from management and supplier over

Shares of fuel cell pioneer Plug Power (NASDAQ:PLUG) tumbled in Wednesday trading, closing the day down 13.7%.

    So what

As we advised earlier today, Plug’s sell-off can be traced directly back to a downgrade to “sell” by Roth Capital earlier this morning. Roth had three main points to make in its downgrade. First, Plug Power reported “weak” earnings last quarter. Second, while that quarter didn’t include any sales from Plug’s widely touted alliance with Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN), once those sales do begin to roll in later this year, Roth believes they will result in “poor quality of revenue, earnings, and gross margins” for Plug.

  • [By Kumar Abhishek]

Shares of Plug Power Inc(NASDAQ:PLUG) have gained more than 65% since its earnings release on 9th March. Plug Power Inc’s share price plunged more than 10% on 9th March following a disappointing earnings announcement. For FY2016, Plug Power Inc had posted a net loss of $57.3 million on revenues of $85 million. However, the stock has made a smart comeback since then. Plug Power technical analysis charts show that the stock has breezed past its 50-day and 100-day simple moving averages (SMA) and is currently approaching the 200-day SMA resistance line.

This buy-rated stock is a lithium exploration and development company with a goal of becoming a low-cost supplier for the burgeoning lithium battery industry, asserts small cap specialist Tom Bishop, editor BI Research.

This area is a well known for positive historical economics, grade and size. It has 2 million tonnes of indicated and inferred reserves here. Lithium X also also has the option to acquire up to 80% of this project.

Credit Suisse analystEdward Westlake and team hope for improved financial disclosure from Exxon:

It continues to be a source of annoyance to investors that some US majors do not include a full cashflow statement in their release. The European Majors do so. Deferred taxes have been a drag on cashflow in 2016 across the group. Exxon’s 4Q16 cashflow was $7.4bn and this was depressed by $2.4bn of “working capital/other”. This was likely deferred tax losses. We will only know when we get the 10-K. Even in the 10-Q at 3Q16,Exxon lumped 19% of cashflow into “all other items” disclosure should be more granular. Brent was $50/bbl in 4Q16. AsExxon get the benefit of slightly higher commodity prices, then deferred taxes could become a neutral and then a positive. There is a tail wind from legacy project startups, and shale growth. However, it makes a big difference to Exxon’s oil price breakeven to annualize $7.4bn of 4Q cashflow ($29.6bn) or $9.8bn ($39.2bn) when the cash dividend is $12.5bn and headline 2017 capex is $22bn. On the reinvestment side of the ledger, the recently acquired shale assets could grow to 350kbd over time.Exxon produced 4.1MBD in 2016 with a 3% mitigated base decline. Hence, this shale growth could help offset 3years of decline. Aside from shale,Exxon also has lower cost resources to develop e.g. in Guyana, Papua New Guinea, Aspen solvent-assisted SAGD in-situ oilsands (subject to BAT), Romania, and has downstream.

EQT Corporation (NYSE: EQT) failed to make new highs and it’s now doing a double three correction from June 2016 peak which already reached the extreme area at $85.17 with enough number of swings to end that cycle. However in the short term, the stock can still extend toward the equal legs area $50.67 from December 2016 peak before buyers show up to resume the rally or bounce in 3 waves at least while holding above $47.10 low

Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE: XOM) is still correcting an older cycle from August 2015 doing a flat structure from July 2016 peak and currently at the last leg of wave (C) that could ideally reach the equal legs area $79.88 – $76.72 before the stock start bouncing in 3 waves at least. The flat structure is tricky because it can always extend but XOM needs to hold above $66.55 to continue its multi-year bullish trend.

Top 5 Energy Stocks For 2018

Last Friday, ourSmall Cap Network newsletter had this tosay about our featured stock Cenovus Energy (NYSE: CVE):

What’s interesting about what I’m seeing with CVE here is although the entire oil sector continues to drag on both the DOW and the S&P 500, shares of CVE have quietly been moving higher in recent days, and more importantly appear to be in the process of building a base

There’s definitely value in spotting stocks that are trading well within a sector that has not been trading well, because when an idea like that starts to take hold, and then the sector it’s in also starts to behave better, it’s usually a pretty lethal combination for that stock.

The volume in CVE has been increasing of late too, and again it’s coming at a time when nobody really cares all that much about energy stocks. But, if there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that every single sector out there is going to have its day in the sun at some point in the future.

Top 5 Energy Stocks For 2018: CSI Compressco LP(CCLP)

Top 5 Energy Stocks For 2018: Foresight Energy LP(FELP)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Laurie Kulikowski]

FORESIGHT ENERGY LP has experienced a steep decline in earnings per share in the most recent quarter in comparison to its performance from the same quarter a year ago. This company has reported somewhat volatile earnings recently. We feel it is likely to report a decline in earnings in the coming year. During the past fiscal year, FORESIGHT ENERGY LP increased its bottom line by earning $0.78 versus $0.08 in the prior year. For the next year, the market is expecting a contraction of 67.9% in earnings ($0.25 versus $0.78).

  • [By Laurie Kulikowski]

The debt-to-equity ratio is very high at 18.59 and currently higher than the industry average, implying increased risk associated with the management of debt levels within the company. To add to this, FELP has a quick ratio of 0.56, this demonstrates the lack of ability of the company to cover short-term liquidity needs.

After the recent distribution cut, Foresight’s distribution coverage is over 6.0x with much of the future cash flow dedicated to reducing leverage. It has over 80% of its coal sales priced for next year and its costs should improve as the low cost Hillsboro mine comes back into production early next year. It is also benefitting from cost synergies with the Murray operations. We believe Foresight’s new distribution level is sustainable. With its 15.5% yield, we feel FELP could be attractive to income seeking investors.

Matador has grown its reserves throughout the commodity cycle, as well as its production and cash flow. Haas also likes the company’s history of identifying and acquiring acreage early and cheaply. Much of the analyst’s positive outlook is derived from Matador’s successful monetization of midstream assets and pattern of reinvestment.

WPX Energy Inc (NYSE: WPX), $18 Price Target

Haas praised WPX’s production base, which is “well balanced” between three major basins, and its production mix of 51 percent oil, 13 percent natural gas liquids and 36 percent natural gas.

CHART 30-Year Bonds

The stock market chopped around last week, with the S&P 500 closing only 7 points higher, closing at 2351. The NASDAQ and the Russell had better weeks, up 1.5% and 2.5% respectively.

With a weekly range of only 1.7% in the S&P 500, traders were perhaps cautious with the French elections approaching. The movement that did occur was due to global security risks and inconsistencies related to the Trump administration’s message on tax reform. For example, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchen early in the week said that tax reform could not move forward without a healthcare bill. Later Two days later, he said they were close to bringing forward tax reform proposal. So concerns over the “Trump Trade” remain.

With the French election results having produced an outcome that brought big relief to the markets, the stock market is getting an early week upward surge. Still, we expect the S&P 500 to struggle to make gains, overall, and this week to be range bound at slightly improved levels.

U.S. gasoline prices averaged $2.465 a gallon Monday, down 3.5 cents from last Monday’s level. Only three of the 50 states did not see a price decline last week.

Following the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, demand for gasoline finally began to drop. Pump prices still have to fall another 10 to 12 cents a gallon to reach their levels in August and more than 30 cents a gallon to match the year-ago price.

Crude oil prices rose a little following last week’s OPEC meeting, but the gain was moderated by the increase in U.S. land rig counts and a large build in U.S. gasoline inventories last week.

Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, said:

With OPEC deciding last week to extend last year’s agreement on oil production cuts, the future for gasoline prices isn’t as rosy. While the short term may feature more modest price decreases is many areas, as we set our sights on the months ahead, 2018 is starting to look ominous as a result of OPEC’s extension. U.S. oil inventories are already 100 million barrels lower than where they were last year as a result of the belt tightening, leading 2017’s yearly average gas price to close out at the highest since 2014. Motorists should enjoy the falling prices now because it’s likely that prices may again rise approaching the New Year as oil prices continue to show strength.

investment firms: SolarWindow Technologies, Inc. (WNDW)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By SEEKINGALPHA.COM]

SolarWindow Technologies, Inc. (OTCQB:WNDW) is another third-party currently engaged in research and development to incorporate one of GLW’s glass products in an innovative manner. WNDW, a leading developer of transparent electricity-generating coatings for glass windows and flexible veneers, announced its plan to develop electricity-generating flexible glass. In particular, WNDW’s scientists and engineers recently applied layers of its liquid coatings onto GLW’s Willow Glass and laminated them under conditions that simulate the high pressure and temperatures of the manufacturing processes used by commercial glass and window producers. The result was a bendable glass “veneer” which generates electricity. WNDW anticipates installing these sheets of electricity-generating glass veneers over existing office tower windows, turning buildings into vertical power generators and helping decrease their carbon footprint. The company also believes that such veneers could be applied to flat and curved surfaces on automobiles, trucks, buses, airplanes, and boats to generate onboard electrical power. WNDW’s veneer products are being developed in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory in an effort to commercialize WNDW’s products. While we saw no specific timeline for when WNDW would offer its products incorporating Willow Glass, we are once again excited by this innovative use of a GLW product.

Top 10 Energy Stocks To Buy Right Now: Halliburton Company(HAL)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By WWW.KIPLINGER.COM]

But what really differentiates SLB from rivals such as Halliburton Company (HAL) is its client list.

Instead of focusing on North America, Schlumberger has a global portfolio, and thus its revenues are well, worldlier. Thats important, because state-owned energy firms can have a different mandate than publicly traded energy stocks. They often drill despite losses. Plus, the multitude of operating regions means some could be profitable, covering for when others are not.

Halliburton reported a profit of 4 cents, beating forecasts for 3 cents, on sales of $4.28 billion, narrowly edging expectations for $4.27 billion. Halliburton’s shares were trading higher before the market opened, but have declined have declined 0.3% to $46.90 at 1:56 p.m. today.

Evercore ISI’s James West sees a “margin explosion” coming for Halliburton during the second half of the year, while comparing the oil-services giant to LeBron:

With the start of the year already regarded as a transition period, we view the companys decision to sacrifice near term margins in order to accelerate long-term profitability and revenue growth as a defensive, yet calculated, and preemptive maneuver. Execution does remain a risk but naysayers seem to utter similar indecencies about LeBron James each year as the playoffs arrive. You dont doubt the king, and HAL is the clear market leader when it comes to NAM completions, in our view. The change in HALs reporting format makes syncing HALs commentary with its financials more difficult, but NAM comprised 68% and 61% of C&P revenues in 2014 and 2015, respectively (71% and 21% of EBIT). As such, the broader segment should be a good proxy for the region. Abatement of cost inflation, or at least a deceleration as we progress beyond the first step-change in activity of the cycle should serve as an additional tailwind for margins. The most likely benefit will come from proppant costs as sand mines resume processing finer mesh grades following the winter hiatus. Additional frac capacity is being reactivated at leading edge prices, evidenced by the fact that incremental margins improved throughout the first quarter, and the company continues to repair legacy contracts and commitments. While the company continues to invest in midstream projects on its balance sheet, however, Garland reiterated that its MLP,Phillips 66 Partners (NYSE:PSXP), remains an important part of our midstream growth strategy.” Garland reaffirmed the expectation that Phillips 66 Partners will “reach its growth goal of $1.1 billion in run-rate EBITDA by the end of 2018.” That will require completing additional dropdown transactions between the two companies as well as the pursuit of new organic growth projects at the MLP.

  • [By WWW.KIPLINGER.COM]

As PSX has grown as a refining outfit, it has added midstream assets pipelines, terminals, rail lines and storage farms. Owning pipelines and gathering systems is a great way to generate cash flows. Phillips enhanced that by placing them inside of its master limited partnership, Phillip 66 Partners LP (PSXP). That way, PSX is preparing to keep its profits even when oil does inevitably rise.

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

The other highlight this quarter was the midstream business. That segment benefited from a full quarter of Phillips 66’s recently completed Freeport LPG Export Terminal as well as a turnaround in results at DCP Midstream (NYSE:DCP). After causing the company to record a loss on its investment last quarter, the DCP Midstream investment was back in the green this quarter, benefiting from hedging and lower costs. Meanwhile, the company’s other MLP investment, Phillips 66 Partners (NYSE:PSXP), delivered another steady quarter thanks to that entity’s focus on owning stable fee-based assets.

Top 10 Energy Stocks To Buy Right Now: Devon Energy Corporation(DVN)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

The failure of Russia and others to fulfill their obligations are coming at a time when U.S. shale production is starting to ramp back up. Shale producers such as Pioneer Natural Resources (NYSE:PXD) and Devon Energy (NYSE:DVN) have already released growth-focused budgets to capture the benefits of an improving oil market. In Pioneer Natural Resources’ case, it expects to spend $2.8 billion this year to operate 18 drilling rigs in the Permian Basin and restart its drilling program in the Eagle Ford. Those rigs should enable the company to drill enough wells to grow its production by 15% to 18% over last year’s average. Meanwhile, Devon Energy expects to spend between $2 billion to $2.3 billion on drilling this year, which should fuel 13% to 17% oil production growth by the fourth quarter versus last year’s final quarter.

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

U.S. producers hit their peak more than a year ago with production steadily coming down since then due to under-investment. However, the industry has recently started ramping activity back up in an attempt to push back against the natural production decline. For example, leading U.S. driller Devon Energy (NYSE:DVN) reduced its rig count from 40 in early 2015 to five by the third quarter of 2016. As a result, Devon Energy’s third-quarter production from retained assets declined 6.9% year over year. However, Devon Energy has started adding back rigs now that oil prices have stabilized above $50 per barrel and it expected to end 2016 running 10 rigs, with plans to run 15 to 20 by the end of this year. These rigs should push its production up by a low- to mid-single-digitrate this year.

While crude prices stumbled into 2016, they found their footing by mid-year and roared back to life, ending the year up about 42%. Those rising prices lifted most oil stocks. However, a handful of large-cap oil stocks rose above the crowd by outperforming crude’s rally. Those top-tier performers wereContinental Resources (NYSE:CLR), Devon Energy (NYSE:DVN), Anadarko Petroleum (NYSE:APC), Pioneer Natural Resources (NYSE:PXD), and Cimarex Energy (NYSE:XEC):

Beta Should Lead At The Start of A Rally: Best ideas in the first leg up: Marathon Oil, Devon Energy (DVN), Anadarko Petroleum (APC), and Continental Resources (CLR). If OPEC announces a cut, whether moderate or deep, we expect that in the initial move up, moderate value beta names, like Marathon Oil, Devon Energy, Anadarko Petroleum, andContinental Resources will lead. For a $5 increase in oil prices, we estimate 2017 cash flow per share would increase 12-18% for these stocks vs. the remainder of the group at 12%. Of these four, short interest is modest for all exceptContinental Resources at 25%, among the highest in our universe. Outperformance of these names should be driven by investors adding to long positions, not short covering.

It wasn’t just Marathon that got clipped as the eight worst-performing stocks in the S&P 500 came from the energy sector, including Murphy Oil (MUR), which fell 6.7% to $25.87, Devon Energy (DVN), which slid 6.5% to $40.72, and Chesapeake Energy (CHK), which stumbled 6.1% to $4.94. No surprise, then, that the Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) slumped 2.6% to $69.65.

Top 10 Energy Stocks To Buy Right Now: Chesapeake Energy Corporation(CHK)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By WWW.KIPLINGER.COM]

When it comes to energy stocks to watch, Chesapeake Energy Corporation (CHK) has to be on the top of the list.

This past quarter, CHK continued on its transition plans to reduce its heavy debt load, remake its portfolio of assets and live to see another day. And it seemed at first, CHK was doing just that. The natural gas fracker, however, was hit by some pretty bad news at the end of the quarter.

  • [By Paul Ausick]

Chesapeake Energy Corp. (NYSE: CHK) posted a new 52-week low of $3.55 on Tuesday, down about 2.7% from Monday’s closing price of $3.65. The stock’s 52-week high is $8.20. Volume totaled around 23 million shares, about 30% below the daily average. The company had no specific news.

Natural gas had been under pressure all year, especially after this past February was the warmest since 1954. By mid-March, gas had lost a quarter of its value because of an oversupplied market. However, it awoke from that slumber toward the end of March thanks in part to the triumphant return of winter, which pounded parts of the nation with a major late-season snowstorm. That storm drove up demand for gas, sending the stocks of several gas producers soaring late last month, including Rice Energy and larger rivalsChesapeake Energy (NYSE:CHK) and Southwestern Energy (NYSE:SWN), which both rose more than 5%.

  • [By Johanna Bennett]

Yet again, Chesapeake Energy (CHK) has tumbled to the bottom of the S&P 500, delivering the biggest declines of the day despite a rise in natural gas prices.

Chesapeake Energy dropped 4.2%, or 26 cents to $5.89, while the S&P 500 declined 0.68% to 2,328.95. Front Month Nymex natural gas for May delivery rose 1.35% to $3.230 per million British thermal units.

Last month, Stifel Nicolaus analyst Karl Chalabala kicked off coverage of the natural-gas and oil-exploration company with a buy rating, saying the stock would give investors exposure to a bullish demand cycle. At $10, his price target suggested, at that time, that the stock could double over the next 12 months.

Chesapeake has fallen more than 16% since the start of 2017

Top 5 Gold Stocks For 2018

If you were looking for the market to find a direction today, well, keep on waiting.

Bloomberg

The S&P 500 finished little changed at 2,050.63, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.1% to 17,660.71. The Nasdaq Composite dipped 0.2% to 4,717.09.

Guild Investment Management’s Monty Guild and team expect a spring pull back to be followed by a summer bounce:

Many world markets look toppy, with the U.S., Canada, and Brazil looking most attractive to buy after a short correction that is coming. While we are not bullish on most world stock markets, we believe that the U.S. market will experience a spring pull back, which could lead to a summer rally. The U.S. market is overbought from a technical perspective, with a high proportion of overbought stocks in the S&P 100. This overbought position makes the U.S. market vulnerable to a short-term decline of perhaps a few percent. This decline will provide a buying opportunity as stocks get a little cheaper. We believe that a combination of a lower Dollar and stronger economic growth will lead to an uptick in U.S. corporate profits in the second half of 2016. The weaker Dollar is highly significant, and we do not believe markets have fully digested its implications. We also see prospects for further appreciation in the Brazilian and Canadian currencies, as well as gold and oil, before year end.

The Ten Gigabit Ethernet or 10GbE modules contributed about 40% to the datacom segment’s revenue. As organizations go digital, there are an increasing number of applications that require considerable bandwidth to support the transfer of large data, video, and audio files across networks. Using 10GbE optical links provides sufficient bandwidth to support these bandwidth-intensive applications at a lower cost.
